RE: Snow load

Good question. I would go back to the manufacturer and ask how the roof is constructed. Since they are no longer available, and most high end trailers are the same, I would start with calling NUWA or using their forum @ NUWAOWNERs.Org and someone there can get you the number. They make Hitchhikers by the way and the CEO reads the post often.

RE: Lodge Cast Iron

I have a well seasoned pot that I want to cook something in the night before we launch our weekend trip. I would store the cooked meal in the pot in the refrigerator. Will this rust the pot overnight because of the moisture in the refrigerator? I want to do this so when we arrive at our camp on Friday night we save some time. I have never done this before so thus the question.

RE: Colorado River Adventures Question

They also said that I would never again receive any offers if I didn't buy. I still get them. In fact I threw another one out of today's mail. They are a giant scam and I would stay away. If you feel compelled to visit, I am sure they will be always happy to deal and sell. the never is not really in their vocabulary when greenbacks are concerned.

RE: Removing Road Tar

WD 40 gets my vote. So after you use the WD-40 what do you use to remove that film off the paint job?

Removing Road Tar

Can anyone tell me what you are using to remove stubborn road grease and tar from the trucks with out hurting the paint? Mine is a Chrysler product which may or may not be relevant concerning the paint.

RE: Cleaning Black Tank

DDT??!! How about the thousands that were dipped as children in the stuff? I say that one is a poor example Red. DDT could still be used today if it wasn't for the wackos of that time period. By using the GEO method, no one is polluting the environment or ruining septic tanks. Soon you will find out the enviro friendly stuff you were using was polluting. There are better ways of doing things, however to say that the current way (GEO method) is killing our systems is flat out irresponsible.

RE: Cleaning Black Tank

Lots of things are harmful but you still use them don't you Red? I don't think you need to insinuate that we are "Slow thinkers" by insulting us that progress is only made buy people thinking like your family. God help us if the tree huggers take over the political system. My daddy did it with hard sweat and thats the way I am going to do it! No short cuts in life pal.

RE: Cleaning Black Tank

I would like to say that Reddwar is correct however not completely. It does kill bacteria eventually. It would be like adding a gallon of bleach to the Santa Monica harbor. it would do absolutely nothing because of the vastness of the amount of water. In a septic system, bacteria are equally vast. You do make a kill, however not enough to stop the tank from working. How many Rvers use this system, at the same time, at the same Rv park? The odds are, not enough to make a ripple. I use the method, and it works just fine for me.

RE: Glacier National Park

Good place. I especially like being near Hungery Horse and Columbia Falls.

RE: Oregon coast question

I know of one that is a private park in Florence. You need to do a search and you will find it. Also I do believe you can get on the water in Winchester Bay.

RE: Utah from CA, Looking for a pull off spot south of Las Vegas

I would be staying in Vegas. Not much between unless you get into Barstow or Victorville. I certainly would want AC this time of year.

RE: plan to buy truck out state

I would do two things first. I would absolutely make sure that the truck I want cannot be found in my home state, of course price model etc plays into it but search it out very well. I then would check very closely on any emissions requirements for your state. I would expect a Calif. vehicle to meet it in all 50 states. I did the reverse you are wanting to do. I found mine in Arizona and I had to make sure the engine had a CAL Epa approved stamp on the block, and I paid Arizona's tax. I got temp tags good for 20 days in Cal. I went to Cal DMV and had them check the engine and begin paperwork. The tax I paid was a bit more in Arizona so I did not have to pay taxes in Cal. If I would have paid less, then I would pay only the difference. Truck also had to be weighed at a public scale. Not hard to do, so if it can be done in Cal, it surely can be done in PA, but why? I can't imagine not finding a truck with these times just about anywhere unless you are looking for a 2008 model.

RE: White King Water Softener & The Geo Method

I bought White king and I used it for the first time after our trip and stored the trailer. I won't know how it does until I take it out next month. I sure hope it did not cake. I used it because I can't find calgon locally.

RE: California RV Endorsement

My question that no one addressed is what if you have a comercial class B license? Are you exempt? Non-com'l Class B may operate all vehicles under Class C, a housecar over 40 feet but not over 45 feet, with endorsement and all vehicles under Class C. This includes a fifth wheel up to 15,000 GVW. Whoa!

RE: Silver lake at june lake loop

I was there last week of July into August this year. It was my first time so I was messed up a bit with the campsites. I reserved a site which was hard to get a 33 foot 5er into but I managed. There is stinging nettle in alot of the sites so beware. I found out the hard way. It is very nice a bit breezy, lots of kids. The campground across the street would not be my choice because they pack you in. It was very crowded. I will stay next time at the rv resort next to June lake next time.
